Background calendar for desktop
Home Software How to Set Your Google Calendar As Your Desktop BackgroundBy Ryan Menezes i Jupiterimages/liquidlibrary/Getty Images Windows XP and earlier Windows versions support Active Desktop, which sets your desktop to display live Web content. If you set your Active Desktop to Google Calendar, your month's events and appointments will appear behind the icons on your desktop. Though there are other ways of quickly accessing your calendar -- you can add your calendar as a favorite or set it as your homepage -- setting it as your desktop background keeps it in view even when you aren't browsing the Web. Step 1Log in to Google Calendar and click the arrow beside a specific calendar in the pane labeled "My Calendars." Step 2Click "Calendar Settings" to open that calendar's settings page. Step 3Click "HTML" in the page's "Calendar Address" section to open a pane with the calendar's URL. Select and copy this URL. Step 4Click Start on your computer and click "Control Panel" to open the Control Panel. Step 5Double-click "Display" to open the Display dialog box and then click the "Desktop" tab. Step 6Click "Customize Desktop" and then click "Web." Step 7Click the Location text box and press "Ctrl-V" to paste the copied URL. Step 8Click "OK" in all open dialog boxes to add your calendar to your desktop. References
