Can i use clorox disinfecting wipes on my laptop screen

I looked it up ad I'm getting conflicting messages. Is it alright to use disinfecting wipes to clean your laptop screen? I've only cleaned the screen once and I won't use it again if it's not, but I wanna be sure I'm not going to damage my unit.

If it is just alcohol, no treatment is needed. The alcohol evaporates quickly and will not remain. Wet wipes are not recommended. The wet wipes are usually not pure water, which may affect the screen. Generally use a slightly damp soft cloth to wipe, and then use a clean cloth or a good quality paper towel to dry. If you need to use a cleaning solution, you can buy a 3m screen cleaning solution. Alcohol generally does not cause serious damage to the screen, at least not obvious to the naked eye, but to be on the safe side, it is better to use alcohol as little as possible in accordance with the official statement.

problem with things like whoosh is u have to rub more otherwise it streaks. becasue theres no alchohol like in windex

if you wash your screen with any harsh chemical, which blurs the screen, you wont have an HD screen anymore it wont matter how many pixels you have. it wont be HD anymore personally i use WHOOSH and disposable microfibre cloths

I'll look into whoosh, I was thinking maybe just damping a cloth with a little warm water wouldn't hurt since there'd be no harsh chemicals. Definitely don't want streaks and I definitely wanna keep the HD screen I have. That's why I'm glad I made sure to ask before I permently damaged my system.

i have triple monitor setup so ive been doing it for awhile. just shut the screen off and shine a light on it and u will see all the crap

anything that gets wet could leak liquid into the display and create black blotches or something thats why they say to use non harsh whoosh and to spray it on the cloth not the screen, etc.... you could use one for cleaning then one for buffing out the streaks

I'll definitely take your advice then. Laptops are really expensive to replace so I'd rather not have to replace it.

i have a big jug of whoosh liquid. i dont like the wet wipes and i have alot of disposable microcloths spray lots on a cloth, wipe screens, hten buff htem with a fresh clean cloth

So I bought some Whoosh off Amazon and holy crap this stuff is amazing, my screen looks like it had never been opened!

Yeah it did leave streaks but I used another cloth to buff those out and it left it nice and clean, it was really nice

so with whoosh we just have to buff it a bit more with a dry microcloth after and it removes that final bit of whoosh cleaner off the screen

the only way to not have streaks is to use windex or something with harsh chemicals in it. they evaporate faster
