  3mo 25 top philanthropies are calling for a tenfold increase in funds to tackle urgent global agricultural and environmental issues. They emphasize the need to shift away from fossil fuels and agrochemicals in favor of agroecology to align with the Paris Agreement's 1.5ºC goal. The estimated cost of a global transition to agroecology and regenerative approaches is USD 250-430 billion per year, less than 5% of the hidden costs of at least USD 12 trillion per year — 10% of global GDP — that include

  Hunger and

  Malnutrition,

  EnvironmentalDamage, lost worker productivity, and

  Healthcare. Current philanthropic, public, and private investments in agroecology and regenerative approaches are estimated to be USD 44 billion per year leaving an estimated USD 206-386 billion gap.
