First thing I notice when I pulled it out of the box is the weight. It's light for its size. I can see carrying this around without getting fatigued. That's a nice surprise considering the other 17" laptops I've owned.

Next thing I noticed was the build quality. While I am disappointed that it's plastic, it looks good and doesn't look cheap. Still, though... I was hoping for aluminum (but, maybe I just didn't pay attention to the product specs).

After that, I noticed it came with (gasp!) a user manual and a driver disk. This is unheard of these days and it made me feel good. They also put a PDF of the manual on the desktop of the default user profile.

Boot time is remarkably fast, and I'm used to super fast boot times. My desktop has nothing but SSDs in it, but I won't have PCIe M.2 until my new desktop I'm building is finished. This has the M.2 and you can tell.

The other thing is... it's really big. I mean, very big. So, be prepared for that.

I use a mechanical keyboard at my desk, so I'm spoiled, but the keyboard on this laptop is responsive enough and the touchpad feels good, so that's nice.

One bad thing - I can't find the utility to change the keyboard effects. I haven't spent much time looking, but I thought it would be rather easier to find.

The display is very nice, although I haven't tried any games or intensive graphics on it. It's not sleek, though... the bezel is about an inch wide surrounding the screen. Of course, if the bezel was more of a "ultraslim" design like seen on a lot of other machines, it would have a 18.5" or 19" screen, which would actually be pretty cool.
